Northern Woodturning Event

Join us at the Northern Woodturning Event! a weekend filled with creativity, craftsmanship, and community. Whether you're a seasoned woodturner or just starting out, there's something for everyone. Don't miss the chance to connect with fellow enthusiasts and explore the art of woodturning!

Cost of entry is £3 per person children under 14 yrs of age are FREE but must be accompanied by adult
competitions

There will be spontaneous woodturning challenges to allow our participating club members to show off their turning abilities.

Also best woodturning stall and last but not least

The club challenge, the details will be made available 12 weeks before the event date.

Demonstrators

We have both Gary Lowe and Rick Dobney, they will be demonstrating throughout the event.

 

Gary a mechanical engineer by trade , has been a registered professional turner for nearly 10 years and lives in the Moray area of Scotland.

Rick originally from Barnsley ,He retired from his day job in IT in 2024, Rick is also the chairperson of Sheffield woodturners.

Association Woodturners Great Britain

Roscoes Guitars

Barry Teague has been woodturning for 25 yrs ,and has the bowl he turned in school many moons ago. Barry was the very first person to attend a course offered by  Andrew Hall RPT back in 2016 on how he created a Blues bowl guitar .Very genoresly Barry has placed a Blues bowl guitar in our raffle. The neck of the guitar is made fromScotch pine, fret board Indian rose wood, bowl spalted beech the top of the bowl portion is made from various exotic hardwoods.

Martin Pigeon

Martin started turning back in 1979, has a fantastic knowledge of wood and woodturning. He decided to start selling wood in 1992 and sells native woods such as Ash and Oak but also offers timbers from Mozambique.
